It is the Fourteenth Century. Edward, King of England, has died. The assembled Lords of England have unanimously decided that Henry, his brother, should become King, instead of Edward's son William. There are several reasons for this.

Edward had made unpopular concessions to the peasants, allowing them a say in the ruling of England. He had even allowed them access to the castle.
Edward also wanted his son to marry Juliano, the princess of Denmark, in order to forge an alliance against Scotland. The King planned to then wage war on Scotland, in order to control the entire island of Britain.

After three months of mourning, Henry has married Edward's widow, Queen Alicia. This has cemented his claim to the throne and he prepares for his coronation. He has invited the Scottish and Danish royal families to the castle for the ceremony, and in order to decide upon which alliance he will forge.

Unknown to the Court, Edward was in fact murdered by his brother Henry in order that he might succeed to both Edward's throne and his wife. Henry, the ghost of the dead King stalks the castle, awaiting his opportunity for revenge, and allowing nothing to stand in his way...
