Biographies
| Charles Tait (Victor Frankenstein) | Charles is studying
Theatre Studies at Egglescliffe Arts College. Previous performances
include The Scarecrow in The Wizard
of Oz, The Mouse That Roared,
The Visit, Kabuki Gift and many others. He's worked with many local groups.
Charles likes cheese, although he doesn't specify a variety. |
| Harmony Gears (Elizabeth) | Harmony has been in many productions, including The Dress, Under Milk Wood and Kabuki Gift both with the Youth Theatre and within Egglescliffe School. She is currently doing A-Levels at Egglescliffe Sixth Form, including Theatre Studies. She wants to go to University before continuing with her Theatre interests. This is her first leading role with the Youth Theatre. |
| Craig Thornton (Clerval) | Craig is 17 and attends Stockton/ Billingham college. He is in the final year of Theatre Studies and GNVQ Performing Arts courses. Craig has been involved in many productions including Hair, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Dress, The Mouse That Roared and Under Milk Wood. Craig spends a lot of his spare time naked. |
| Lee Spreadbury (Felix) | Lee is studying A-Level Theatre Studies at Egglescliffe Arts College. He's done many other productions, including three with the Youth Theatre (including Under Milk Wood and The Dress. |
| Robert [Nobby] Carter (Nugent) | Robert attends Egglescliffe Arts College and has been involved in four Youth Theatre productions as well as other plays in and out of college. He loves Corey Skaggs. |
| Helen Story (Professor Krempe) | Helen is currently studying for her GCSEs at Egglescliffe Comprehensive. This is her second Theatre Summer School and the third she's been involved with at the school itself. She enjoys Drama and Music. Helen is 15. |
| Andrew Robinson (Professor Waldman) | Andrew is 15 and attends Egglescliffe Comprehensive. He has appeared in six plays with Egglescliffe, last year appearing at Billingham Forum in The Dress. He is in the school Orchestra, brass band and the choir. The school Orchestra is appearing at the Royal Albert Hall in November after winning the National Festival of Music for Youth for the 6th time in a row. |
| Peter Standen (Police Chief) | Peter is a student at Egglescliffe School (amongst other things doing GCSE Drama). He's previously appeared in The Visit, another school production. He thinks being part of Frankenstein has been great - "it's really helped my acting skills!" Peter is 15. |
| Glenn Merryweather (Mayor) | Glenn is 17 and attends the Cleveland College of Art and Design. He's been in 6 shows both in and out of Egglescliffe. He has a recurring dream about hamsters and pork pies. |
| Colette Millington (Mayor's Wife) | Colette, aged 16, has just started at Stockton Sixth Form College, studying A-Level Theatre Studies and English as well as GCSE Biology and Sociology. She previously attended Conyers, but didn't get involved in the Drama there because she thought it was boring. |
| Amy Bennet (Rev Kurwin/ Assistant Stage Manager) | Amy attends Egglescliffe Sixth Form. This is her first performance with the youth theatre. She's one of the sensible ones. She's very friendly and (apparently) she's going out with Craig. Amy is 17. |
| Katherine Hill (Magistrate) | Katherine attends Grangefield School in Stockton. Her interests include basket-ball, ju-jitsu and tennis. She is 15. Katherine is currently studying Drama, Art and Graphic Products, which she is hoping to continue at A-Level. |
| Rachel Sharpe (First Prostitute) | Rachel studies at Egglescliffe comp and is currently working towards a GCSE in Drama. She appeared in last year's EYT production (The Dress). She is well known for writing and performing comedy sketches with her friend Kate Cross. |
| Cherie Gears (Second Prostitute/ Townsperson) - | Cherie attends Egglescliffe. This is her 3rd production. Drama and Music are her favourite lessons. She is being dragged kicking and screaming into year 9. |
| David Morrison (Carlos) | David is a 15 year old Egglescliffe student and is about to start in his second year of GCSE Drama. He hopes to go on to study A-Level Theatre Studies. He would like to write and direct a production at some point. He recently appeared in a production of The Visit. |
| Alex Howsam (Rosa/ Townsperson) | Alex studies GCSE Drama and Music at Grangefield School. She enjoyed the Youth Theatre so much last year that she decided to come back for more this year. She hopes the play goes "alright on the night". |
| Amy Colclough (Maria) | Amy is 16 and this is her first Summer School. She has been dancing for about eleven years and is a member of Stockton Stage and Middlesbrough Amateur Operatic Society. She's recently performed in Kismet at the Forum and in November you can catch her as a Jet girl in West Side Story. She also dances for Middlesbrough FC. She is studying Theatre Studies, Sociology and English Language at Egglescliffe Sixth Form. |
| Melody Gears (Old Woman) | Melody's attended the Summer Theatre Course for three years now and has enjoyed each one. She loves acting and singing and hopes to go on to greater things in the theatre in her later life. Amen! |
| Phillipa Stephenson (Guiseppe) | Phillipa goes to Stockton and Billingham College, where she studies Performing Arts. She has appeared on stage at the Billingham Forum amongst other venues. She has played the guitar for five years. |
| Charlotte Stapely (Ramone) | Charlotte is an Egglescliffe pupil who studies GCSE Drama. She has been in every production since 1996. |
| Heather Youngman (Roberta) | Heather is in Year 11 at Grangefield School. She's taking Drama, amongst other things. She describes her character as being a "butch, female version of Grant Mitchell..." This is her first EYT show and she's really looking forward to the performances. She hopes you are too. |
| Joanne Daly (Lucia) | Joanne was in The Dress last year and enjoyed it so much that she came back! She loves performing for people and aims to continue doing so. |
| Andrew Gosling (The Creature) | Andrew has always enjoyed acting and has been to the Summer School twice. This is his first Youth Theatre production, and he was unanimously voted into his role. He has already taken a Drama GCSE and is now studying A-Levels at Stockton Sixth Form College. |
| Kara Danks (Gypsy/ Townsperson) | This is Kara's first year with EYT. She is 16 and has just started at Bede Sixth Form, Billingham where she studies English, Sociology and Media Studies. |
| Ellen Cockburn (Student/ Assistant Stage Manager) | Ellen has been an EYT member for a number of years and is currently studying Drama and Communication Arts at the University College Ripon and York St. John. Although she's focused on acting previously, this year she decided to try Stage Management. |
| Hannah Morrison (Townsperson/ Student/ Gypsy) | Hannah, 13, attends Egglescliffe Comprehensive. This is her first Summer School. She has previously appeared in The Mouse That Roared. Her favourite subjects are Music, Art and Drama. |
| Janine Hind (Gypsy/ Student/ Townsperson) | Janine is a 14 year old student at Egglescliffe Comp. She enjoys dancing and music. Being a Gypsy, she lives in a caravan (obviously). She also enjoys annoying Daniel (also a Gypsy). |

| Tory Frost (Townsperson) | Tory studies Drama and Music (amongst other things) at Egglescliffe Comp. She has been in every school and youth theatre production since 1996. She is interested in Theatre and Music. |
| Daniel Trotter (Townsperson) | This is Daniel's first Summer School and he's really enjoyed it. He says that the rest of the cast have been great and that "it's all been good fun!" |
| Helen Anderson (Gypsy) | Helen is a 14 year old Egglescliffe pupil and has chosen Drama and Music as GCSE options. She attends the ARC Youth Theatre and Stagecoach groups. |

| Anthony Gears (Writer/ Director) | Tony trained at Aberystwyth UCW and Birmingham Polytechnic. He has been Head of Drama at Egglescliffe for 14 years and for 10 of those was Head of Lovell House. He's been involved in Youth Theatre and Drama Summer Schools in Stockton since 1983 and has directed numerous productions. Tony has been director of Egglescliffe Youth Theatre since setting it up in 1986. He has also written many musicals and plays for both EYT and the school, including last year's hit comedy The Dress. He is GCSE Drama Co-ordinator for Stockton and an AEB Theatre Studies examiner. As of September Tony is Director of the Arts College. He is also Grand Sheikh of the "You're Darn Tootin' Tent" of the Sons of the Desert, the Laurel and Hardy Appreciation Society. He is married with 5 children, three of whom appear in the show. |
| Katherine Pollard (Set Construction) | Katherine is 19 and has been involved with theatrical productions since 1992. Her contributions have ranged from acting to scenery painting. |
| Philip Hodgeson (Designer) | Phil is Curriculum Co-ordinator at Park View School in Chester-le-Street. He has worked with EYT since 1987 after several years spent in the professional theatre. He is also director of a Youth Theatre in Staindrop, County Durham. Phil has illustrated an number of books for children and has designed wine labels for a famous wine company. |
| Mik Errington (Deputy Stage Manager/ Costume/ Make-up) | Mik studied Creative Arts at Newcastle before moving into teaching. She's performed in, directed and stage-managed many productions, both in and outside school. These include Happy End, Wreckers, Cabaret, A Christmas Carol, The Visit and Kabuki Gift. Before taking up her post 6 years ago, she arrived on the set of EYT's production of Macbeth to help out with costumes and get to know everyone. She's been doing it ever since. Mik's other talents include musical direction, choreography and dancing. |
| Emma Green (Choreographer) | Emma trained with Anne Jeans at Peppercorn. Later, she worked with Anne Crow as a member of Cleveland Contemporary Youth Dance. Emma studied A-Level Dance and BTEC Performing Arts at Stockton/ Billingham College before attending the University of Sunderland, where she gained a BA (Hons) in Creative Art Studies. Emma works as Dance Teacher at Stockton's ARC and also runs Performing ARCs Youth Dance. Emma is preparing to teach Dance at Egglescliffe Arts College and is looking forward to working with everyone at the school. |
| Innes Chapman(Stage Manager) | Innes has been involved with EYT 11 years now (as a tutor for 4). He is currently auditioning for Drama School. |
| Simon Cuthbert (Set Construction) | Simon is 18. He's contributed to Theatre productions since 1993 and specialises in Set Design and Construction. |
| Rachel Cook (Set Construction) | Rachel attends Egglescliffe Arts College. She plays the flute in the school orchestra and performed at the Royal Festival Hall in July. She will also perform with the orchestra at the Last Night of the School Proms in November. Recently she achieved an A in GCSE Art. She's been involved with EYT for the first time this term as a member of the Set Team. Now she wishes she'd been a dancer or a prostitute. |
| Jasmin Ward (Set Construction) | Jasmin is 16. She's been involved with several Egglescliffe School Christmas pantomimes and has participated in the Egglescliffe Youth Theatre for the past few years. She has also performed in several concerts with the Junior and Senior Choirs at Egglescliffe School. If you can remember, she was the girl with the squeaky voice in The Dress last year. |
| Chris Earl (Programme) | Chris has recently returned to the North East after three years spent teaching Drama in Kent. He will be joining the Drama team at Egglescliffe Arts College in September. |
| Martin Turner (Lighting Design) | Martin is 18 and is about to launch himself into the unknown when he begins studying for a BSc(Hons) in Media Technology and Production in the distant wilds of the University of Teesside. Martin has been involved with the theatre since 1992 in various roles but now FOCUSES on LIGHTING (geddit?). |
